Bio

Ann Milligan
What do we really value? How do we create meaning in our constantly changing lives? Fragmented experiences, archival footage, chaos, mutations and broken language all churn together revealing the wonderful and frightening insanity we presently live in. We redefine the world by maneuvering through and adapting to the constraints imposed upon us. I question our values by exploring the in-between liminal places. I merge time sequence and history, pondering alternative realities to gain insights into our perceptions of the world. Through my video and installations I play with critical concepts around how the environment and nature take on new meaning as a high-tech world blurs the boundaries between the wild and the virtual and where plastic becomes religion, and garbage precious jewels.
